Project Summary
Syncrel Tech is a one-stop partner for design, manufacturing, and procurement of electronic components.
Founded in 2016 in Romania, Syncrel Tech offers fast solutions to urgent requirements whether it is finding in-stock components, offering alternative and customized products or PCB Assembly.
Syncrel’s global reach helps customers by locating hard to find and end of life products in stock all around the globe. We are talking here about more than a quarter of a million products. They didn’t want an online store, but they wanted potential customers to understand they can help them with the missing parts for their projects.
The website
For this project, I worked side-by-side with the CEO, Yunus Kayan, a young entrepreneur with a vast experience in the field. Since the beginning of our partnership, we have synchronized our thinking with ease, as Yunus did an excellent job describing what they do, and who they do it for.
The layout I went for on this website is one that’s not overloaded with content and elements, so that users won’t have to think too much. They will find exactly what they are looking for if the website they are visiting is designed in exactly the right way.
After seeing the proposed design in a dark theme, my friends at Syncrel Tech were convinced that they will leave a lasting visual impression with a modern look.
Searchable database
Through its vast network of partners, Syncrel Tech can locate hard to find and end-of-life products. To show this to the users, we had to come up with a solution to display stock information for 250,000 products in a table format with the ability to search and/or filter. In real time.
Displaying such an immense amount of information on a static website would increase the loading time too much, and nobody wants to browse a website that takes forever to load. The solution was to upload the table to an SQL database and make a query that returns the product the user is searching for, in real time. The table is now loading instantly and the search functionality is flawless, without putting too much stress on the loading time of the page.
Multilingual content
The website had to be implemented in three different languages, for the different markets they want to target.
When designing and building the layouts, I had to keep in mind the challenges that come with presenting translated and interpreting text – different lengths, words jumping to the next line etc.
The website uses geolocation and knows what language your browser is using and shows you the content in that language, or in English if not available. Moreover, when switching from one language to another, you always land on the same page you were reading, and not back to the homepage.
We had a simple website, compared to the complicated business we do. It is not easy to explain what we do and how we do it, yet Ionut had no trouble figuring it all out. He was very professional and receptive to our needs. We had very constructive talks during the process of creating the new website and the end result was even better than what we had hoped for.
